Landon Flanagan took the trouble to write today, to tell me of what I can only presume to be a new invention that his father and sister intend to patent:
Good evening
Our parents have been married for twenty years.
They tried everyting in their relations and thought that nothing could awake their interest.
But one day father made unusual thing with my sister and then they told about it our mom and me.
Thank you, your
Landon Flanagan
This has such a wonderful Edward Gorey flavour about it that I thought I would use the opportunity to recommend that all readers of Tetherd Cow Ahead (both of you) should have a copy of Gorey’s The Curious Sofa: A Pornographic Work in their library. Go buy it NOW:
The Curious Sofa at Amazon.
If anyone would care to provide an illustration of what they think The Unusual Thing might look like, send it to me and I will post it on The Cow with full credit.

[…] No-one can accuse producer Landon Flanagan (The Unusual Thing) and director Raymundo (Wild Oats) of taking the easy options with this thriller-cum-psychodrama based on the allegedly true blog of the enigmatic ‘Reverend’ Anaglyph. Bringing any such material to the screen is a challenge, and if there’s one thing that can be said in the film’s favour it is that it succinctly captures the aimless meanderings, disjointed musings and baffling asides of the source material. […] When Peter Jackson was asked to direct Tetherd Cow Ahead: The Movie, he immediately turned it down, stating that “the film is much too complicated and surreal” to be adapted to the big screen. “It’s like The Lord of the Rings, but worse. It’s just too damn big.” Fortunately for fans around the globe, Landon Flanagan stepped up to the plate and brought us the biggest, most spectacular film the world has ever seen. Ebert and Roeper call it “An instant classic” that is “not to be missed unless you have an excuse not to see it”. […]
