October 15, 2008: ABC News Online:
Australia will join five other countries in what scientists describe as one of the most ambitious explorations of the Antarctic.
Buried deep beneath the Antarctic continent is a mountain range of such a huge scale that scientists are almost in awe of what they are about to do.
My God! DON’T THESE PEOPLE READ!?
Just wait a few years and global warming will have melted the ice, making the mountains much easier to find and look at. Wait long enough, and you won’t even need a coat.
I sense an “indescribable horror” coming on…
The King
ps Perhaps there will be “a strange young man” heading up the expedition too.
Atlas: Wait even longer and the elder Ones will return again to take their rightful place as rulers of all humankind…
King Willy: Um, yeah, hence my headline ‘Indescribable Horror’.
Oops, perhaps I’m one of those people who can’t read!
The King (suitably humbled)
Stupid stupid people messing with those that should not be named . . .
You should have a disclaimer “Spoiler Alert” Anyone notice if you use google maps there is no north pole anymore. All ocean, no ice. No ones seems to find that disturbing but me? Just a matter of time before the south pole looks the same.
Malach: Well, they’ll learn. When they find the giant blind albino penguins…
MI: Tut. If you’ve not read HPL by now, then you deserve the spoiler!
FWIW, apparently Guillermo del Toro (he of Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth fame) was rumoured to be doing a film version of At the Mountains of Madness. Sadly it looks as if it probably won’t be happening. For him, at least.
Tekeli-li!
Cthulu ftaghn!

Hello Wizzard of Jacksonville, and welcome to The Cow. As for your comment, I can only concur (who would dare do otherwise?)
