This framed poster, on a wall at the Xinh Moi. Look carefully at the legend above the girl’s knee…
I have momentary wi-fi. Nurse Myra has treated me to a couple of hours at the wonderful Victoria Hotel in Hoi An. Pool, cocktails, wi-fi. Sigh.
I’d like to write more guys, really I would. But I can see the pool from where I’m sitting, and well, you know I love yez all, but… oh, is that the time?
I’m a little puzzled by the menorah. Can you explain its presence and/or meaning in this poster?
Get well soon, Revrend.
I hope Nurse Myra rmemberd t pack th penicillin.
RaJ: There are many puzzling things about this ‘photo’. It is in fact a very elaborately constructed composite. All the fruit is just duplicated single pieces, the two people are cut out and stuck on. And I’m not sure it’s technically a menorah is it? Too many candles… One of you guys is going to have more idea of the correct form there.
Joey: Ironically, my only tangle with Montezuma’s Revenge has happened yesterday, after we spent most of the day at a hi-falutin’ Western-style resort. That’s gotta be saying something…
Yeah, it’s a menorah alright– that middle candle is the one that you light all the others with (it has a Hebrew name but I cannot remember it at the moment).
It’s one helluva cut-n-paste job, I might add. There’s a little something for everyone in there, wheee…..
