Fibonacci Fantastika*

For your diversion, some eye candy: here are a few of the math structures I’m working with in my artwork at the moment. In these, the images incorporate, as text, parts of the equations that I’ve used to construct the images themselves (you can’t get a lot more recursive than that):

*These particular images don’t have anything at all to do with the Fibonacci Series. I was just trying to come up with a cool headline…

Cool results.
I wish I had a brain that could equate maths with imagery.
Lovely stuff as always Rev, and you don’t even need to play with your hand (as at other times) to do it!
The King
gorgeous! especially the third one
MATH NO!
I suck at math. Images to me come in sounds, so music is a big motivator for me.
Particularly enjoy the last one. It does, however, combine the two forces that are ever at odds with one another within my psyche, art vs. reason. Art vs. Reality. Art vs. day job.
meggie: You don’t have to – I’ll do it for you!
King Willy: No, but there’s a bit of prophesying involved.
Nurse Myra: I should have put up one with more purples!
Malach: Math YES!
MI: Well, music is a big motivator for me too, but there isn’t a lot of distance between math & music & what I’m doing in my artwork. In fact, I think you might be surprised how closely it’s related to music…
JAK: Art gets in the way of everything.
I like your early, funny work.
ha ha cissy strutt! good one….
Cissy Strutt: It’s all in the timing.
Nurse Myra: Don’t encourage her!
I like the third one, and think it would make an awesome desktop background. The only thing I would change, per se, is the round yellow ball in the lower left hand corner. I’d probably crop the image just slightly, so that you can see a tiny bit of the glowing, but not the entire ball. For me, it’s just too distracting and I like the idea of wanting to know what’s in the corner, but not really ever finding out. Kinda like the golden glow of the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Nice work. What program did you use to make these?
Atlas: Thanks for the feedback. These are not final images – just pieces I grabbed for the Cow, so I think there’ll still be a bit of change coming down the pike. Usually I’m making these particular works symmetrical, and the bottom image was just quick a crop in to get a better look at the text for you guys. But good thoughts.
My images are all made with AMPro, a 2D mathematical modelling & structuring app. I beta test for U & I Software who make it, and am probably one of the few people who understands it well. I’m also making animated systems as well, and I may post some of those up here soon.
