In a newsagency at Sydney airport on Sunday:
What puzzles me is how Newsweek thinks it’s going to get people to pay six bucks for just a cover.

What did he do right? I am having a hard time comprehending that cover. Are you sure that really is not the cover to a comic book? A fictional piece?
How can anyone even put the sentence “What he did right” with Bush’s face? That person should be drawn and quartered.

Next there’ll be fully dressed women on the cover of Playboy…

(For what it’s worth, the thrust of Fareed Zakaria’s article is that Bush was an idiot when he started out, but he got better. Yeah, now see Fareed, the problem with that is that like all idiots he did a shitload of damage before he got called to account. ANYONE can be president if you accept that it’s fair game to govern by trial & error. The true mystery of George Bush’s reign is that anyone let him stay there so long.)
I might suggest there will be vomit stains, & sputum marks, or maybe even worse, on that cover, should it be displayed outside shops?
Or maybe even inside…
He did do some things right!
So far he managed to:
Cover his own ass by surrounding himself with powerful people he pays off
Get rich by railroading America into things that make his buddies and his personal interests a crapload of money
Not go on trial for war crimes
Not get America into a (major) war over our unjustified (minor) war.
Not get impeached
Ruin his family name
I’ll admit, I was grossly mistaken to vote for him the first time, but I don’t know who kept the asshat in office for a second term. It wasn’t me. I voted for the guy who ended up with a friggin Nobel Peace Prize. George may have heard of it, if it was ever mentioned in a comic book…

I was in the doctors office today and the magazine was there. I started to read it but had to stop because the pitiful desperate attempt by the writing to find what he did right (which seemed to be him just reversing a lot of the things he orginally fucked up) was down right sickening and that person should be tared and feathered for even trying. Not to mention, the cover was really ugly.
Meggie: Yeah, and to think they make them put opaque covers on porn, and yet let that kind of thing be seen by small children.
