Anything You Say May Be Used in Evidence…*

Last week, on a jaunt to Victoria’s famous Hanging Rock , I snapped this shot, which must surely be the most iconically “Australian” photo I’ve ever taken.
(For appropriate atmospheric effect, feel free to play the following mp3 as you contemplate this post):

Jorge Rico would be so proud. As for the murders? Well, I blame the koala. His alibi was that he was “just hanging around the wrong place at the wrong time”.
omg, a drop bear koala
You can see how is peers down from above – ready to drop down on any unexpecting food source that is walking past.
I also notice how one hand is already out – just in case it needs to do a swift attack with its shape claws
and notice how fat the creature is – it must be very effective in taking out prey.
that’s one scary animal. I wonder who would win between it and the cat ? The cat is faster, but the drop bear has the weight
jmf: It was in fact Gheorge Zamfir who was put on the Pan Flute Map by Picnic at Hanging Rock. Until now I wasn’t aware of any other ‘maestro’ of the shepherd’s pipes. It’s truly staggering that anyone really buys that amount of warbling.
As for the koala, well, all I can say is that I hope someone read him his rights…
din: I felt that the shots of the koala feasting on a tourist, which I snapped previous to this post-prandial portrait, might prove a little stomach-churning for the foreigners. They’re already nervous about the sharks, the snakes and the jellyfish – we don’t want to agitate them any further, n’est ce pas?
Awww – I thought you said “maestro of the shepherd’s pies”. Yummers.
Stop that music … please, I beg of you …
Cissy Strutt: Given the choice, I’d much prefer the shepherd’s pies.
Miranda: Go towards the light! Towards the light!
Something you don’t know about me: I directed the fragrant Anne-Louise Lambert as Mrs Darling in Peter Pan.
What an ugly, smelly animal. The stench doth not match the muzak. Well, maybe.
Back in third or fourth grade there was a mania amongst the girls at my school for stuffed koala bears. They were just soooo cute and cuddly, apparently.
I always thought they were evil, beady-eyed little bastards.
It was with great satisfaction years later that I learned they smell, and if you hold them they pee on you.
Now the platytpus, THERE’S a cutey!
Geez.
I was expecktin a diffrent pitchr.
Casey: Give me a wrestle with a koala over an assault by pan flute any day.
Colonel: Nobody told you about the platypus’ poisonous spur yet, did they?
Joey: No, that’s the picture that Violet Towne took of me on the day.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Wait. Am I supposed to not like the music?
Also I was thinking “Eats, shoots and leaves” but then I remembered “panda.”
Although…
Black Friday and no word from the Reverend
or the Spawn…
Mrrreeeoooooowwww…
